Vistalite Rarities - Tympani

Sonor were a major producer of acrylic drums in the 1970s and early 80s. Like Ludwig, Sonor produced a range of percussion products in addition to drum kits and the Sonor catalogue included marching, orchestral and educational percussion. The acrylic tympani falls somewhere between those final two categories.

Available with 20, 23 and 26 inch shells, these drums were available with individually adjustable screws or central tuning with a system of wires geared around the screws.

These drums appear to be quite rare....in fact, we've only ever seen this one - and it has recently arrived here at Vistalites-central. The is 20 inches in diameter and has the central tuning mechanism.
