Vistalite Collections - Jonathan Hilton-King

Jonathan is one of the relatively few Vistalite collectors in the UK. He owns the clear monster kit (below) and a blue/white vertical bar kit (below a bit more), recently liberated from the stores of ClassicDrums.com.

This is the current set-up although I also use 2 more toms on the rack. The vists are;-

• 2 x 22x14 bass drums (I've put pearl metal hoops on these to stop my loony bass player jumping all over the wood ones!)
• 1 x 12x8 tom
• 2 x 13x9 toms
• 1 x 14x10 tom
• 1 x 16x16 floor tom
• 1 x 18x16 floor tom
• ...and a huge sounding 14 x 8 coliseum snare.

I also use vist snares, 14 x 5 clear, 14 x 5 blue, 14x 5 black/clear pattern B 5-band and a 14 x 5 red/white/blue pattern D swirl. An oddity is a 14 x 10 tom converted to a snare, a bit odd but a nice 80`s rock sound, going to try recording with it so I'll let you know if it works.
